Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose and leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) otherwise known as Fulani Herdsmen, have signed a peace agreement after fine-tuning grey areas in the enforcement of the Anti-Grazing Law in the state.
At a brief ceremony in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti yesterday, Fayose ordered the immediate release of 9 cows of the member of the group seized by the operatives of the recently inaugurated Ekiti Grazing Enforcement Marshals for contravening grazing law. He maintained that the approved grazing period 7am to 6pm as stipulated in the law stands and that anyone who contravenes this will be dealt with.
