Not Again! Pastor, Four Others Kidnapped By Unknown Gunmen In Ekiti

No fewer than five persons, including a man said to be a pastor, have been kidnapped in Ise-Ekiti, in Ise/Orun Local Government Area of Ekiti State by unidentified gunmen.

Sources said the pastor, identified simply as Ojo and his driver, said to be Jimoh and the three others were abducted in the wee hours of Saturday, at a location on the Ise – Emure road.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Ekiti Police command, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, said he was not aware if a cleric was among the victims, but said two of the abducted persons had been freed while his men were on the trail of the abductors and their victims.

Adeyemi charged the citizenry to support the police with “useful information to help the police in the fight against crime and also help by exposing strange faces and movements around them.”

This incident is coming barely 48 hours after the administrative secretary of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State was abducted and released.
